Description | The paper was presented at the Across Border Conference - East carolina University in North Carolina. The content of the paper was based on how a group of Iraqi Kurds use material object or material culture. Th main focus of the paper is examining the significance of making and remaking material artifacts within Kurdish immigrant communities in the UK. It aims to examine the emotional impacts of objects and places on the individual’s cultural identities and understand how ‘things make people happen’ (Kell, 2015, p. 442) by drawing on the interplay of ‘post-humanism’ theory (Pennycook, 2018) |
