AbstractContributions in Part VI of the handbook provide hope that social work is part of the world that is making considerable progress and that there are consistent and continuing efforts by various stakeholders in developing educational standards and practice standards in social work. This concluding section of the handbook contains 11 well-researched and timely contributions covering diverse countries and political contexts. Advancing social work education, curricula, practice teaching, and pedagogy is an important mission that needs to be taken up by professional associations and by the state in every country, especially in developing and less developed countries.
