Description | Matterport. (The VR reference space) plus recording. The next chapter in my artistic journey led to the creation of ARTeFACT, a living space meticulously crafted to capture a multitude of references and influences. This innovative installation transformed the room into an interactive and immersive virtual environment, allowing visitors to experience a 360-degree image and explore the curated spaces that held profound meaning for me. One notable area within the installation was a recreation of a clinical room, symbolizing the environments where nurses often encounter traumatic experiences. This room was adorned with an extensive collection of research materials, including books, journals, poems, and artwork, all thoughtfully arranged to create a powerful visual narrative. What made this installation truly unique was the integration of hyperlinks to blogs and "thing links," enabling visitors to directly engage with specific passages or lines within associated readings through linked images. This interactive element sought to transcend the limitations of linear appreciation and traditional processes of showcasing knowledge, embracing the power of digital connectivity. ARTeFACT became a manifestation of my mind, akin to a meticulously constructed criminal case or a mind room inspired by Sherlock Holmes. It served as a tangible representation of my artistic evolution, encompassing not only my present creative intent but also extending back to my pre-registration journal entries and beyond. Every facet of the room and the interconnected links within it was meticulously explained through a recorded narrative, which featured insights from my Chair and supervisors. This comprehensive journey provided visitors with a profound understanding of the intricate connections and the depth of my creative intent. The purpose of ARTeFACT was to offer a captivating opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in my world as an artist, gaining insight into the multifaceted nature of my work. It invited them to explore the curated spaces, delve into the research materials, and engage with the linked content to uncover the layers of meaning embedded within the installation. By offering this immersive experience, I aimed to create a deeper connection with my audience, inviting them to be active participants in the exploration of my artistic process and the concepts I sought to convey. ARTeFACT was an embodiment of my artistic evolution and an invitation to enter a world of interconnected ideas and inspirations. It was an expression of my neurodiversity, embracing my neuroatypicality as a remarkable asset that allowed me to transcend traditional boundaries and present knowledge in innovative and engaging ways. Through this installation, I aspired to challenge conventional modes of artistic representation and create a space where visitors could be captivated, inspired, and intellectually stimulated. |
