Abstract | Reflecting on the impact of health and well-being for everyone within the school setting is crucial, having two different, but equally important elements to it. It not only refers to the importance of recognising and supporting the personal health and well-being of the pupils’ that you work with, but also refers to the importance of acknowledging and addressing the significant impact that supporting pupils’ complex needs and the impact of significant changes within the education system have on teachers themselves. Neither sits in isolation, but rather there is a complex and interconnected relationship between the well-being of staff and pupils, with each impacting the other. Writing about such a relationship often requires a level of artificial separation that does not represent real life, we try to represent this intimate relationship within our writing and boundaries between teacher/pupil, indeed teacher/spouse can, rightly, become blurred. |
