Abstract

This paper examines the integration of international investment law into the broader field of public international law. It questions whether the more Euro centric marks on the development of public international law as wide discipline can in part have affected the weighting of private law relationships in favour of investor states. This paper questions current norms and advocates a re- balance of investor-state agreements by reconsidering the status of so called customary norms.
