Abstract | While the aim of Breed specific legislation (BSL), protecting the public from potentially dangerous injuries caused by dogs, is an important part of the government’s responsibility, this evidence highlights problems around the evidence-base for current legislation as well as concerns around the welfare of dogs and owners affected by the legislation. Interventions focusing on owners and the public would be preferable and more consistent with current evidence. |
