Description | A public screening of archive film of the Canterbury area discovered during research by Tim Jones on amateur filmmaking. The films reveal the changing face of Canterbury and the surrounding area from the 1930s onwards and give an insight into the development of amateur filmmaking. The screenings are interactive in nature, providing an opportunity for the audience to share their knowledge of the local area. This screening included home movie footage of Sir Bertram Ramsay, architect of the successful evacuation at Dunkirk, family life at Howletts Mansion and a tribute to Frank Woolley at the Kent County Cricket ground. Public Screening at Canterbury Christ Church University on 27 Feb 2016 and 19 March 2016. |
