Abstract | DEBUT is a personalised staff development programme which aims to raise the digital literacy levels of staff within Canterbury Christ Church University. Moving away from a focus on technical training, DEBUT uses a literacy approach to staff development. A key indicator of whether the DEBUT approach is successful is a marked increase in the digital literacy levels of participants. Evaluation to date shows that all but the most digitally experienced participants have made progress on their digital journey, very significant progress in a number of cases. With DEBUT recruiting its third cohort of staff in June 2009 our project report will share and seek discussion on what we have found to be the benefits and issues of providing personalised digital staff development. |
